![]() Teeth can shift for a variety of reasons, but the most common problem is when the teeth in the mouth shift at night. When this happens, the teeth might be moved to one side of the mouth or have gaps in between them. Why Teeth Shift at NightUsually when teeth shift during the night, it is because they are pushed to one side by sleeping regularly on that same side. This causes the teeth to naturally push to the other side of the mouth. Repeated use of the one side of the face can cause this to happen. When the teeth are shifting at night, they are being pushed to the one side and with the pressure being localized to that area, they are not going to be able to shift back. Doing this every night for a long period of time will eventually lead to having the teeth pushed to this side permanently. This may require the use of braces in the mouth to correct the problem or might cause gaps to form in the teeth on one side and tight spaces on the other side. If you feel that your teeth are misaligned and need to be moved to another area of the mouth, then speak with our professionals. We can provide you with even more information regarding the shifting of teeth and how you would be able to stop or correct the problem. This can help you have a better overall smile once again. |
